Recently, Indian coal trader Iman Resources analyzed that from January to July this year, India's coking coal imports fell compared with the same period of last year, but the injection of coal imports increased significantly.



Iman Resources said in a report that from January to July, India imported a total of 28.98 million tons of coking coal, down 5.7% year-on-year.



Among them, India imported Australian coking coal decreased by 10.9% to 20.86 million tons, and the import of coking coal from the United States decreased by 4.2% to 2.73 million tons. In the same period, India imported 3.1 million tons of coking coal from Canada, an increase of 11%.



According to the report, from January to July, India imported 2.255 million tons of metallurgical coke, down 28% year-on-year.



“The Indian steel industry is using more jet coal for blast furnace steelmaking and reducing coking coal and metallurgical coke imports,” Iman Resources said.



According to the report, from January to July, India imported 7.82 million tons of coal, an increase of 59% over the same period of last year, mainly due to the increase in imports from major suppliers such as Australia and Russia. Data show that from January to July, India imported 130,300 tons of coal from Canada.



Iman Resources said that in the first seven months of this year, India's imported coal brands imported from Australia include Jellinbah, Poitrel, Lake Vermont and South Walker. ) and Cappricorn coal.
